Isn’t it so
All that glitters is not gold
Focus on your road
Stay true to your own
Chase your purpose
Work your seeds to growth
Set high goals
Bring not your values low
Challenges will shoot their arrows
With your shield be ready and bold
Distractions will throw their stones
Be unbeatable and let it show
Build the talents that unfold
Be extraordinary like it’s never been told
Build your character also
Be strong yet soft as rose
Some things are never to be sold
Your joy, passion and soul
On the mountain or in valley low
Never let your spirit go cold
Those who patiently go
Ever trusting in the God on the throne
Those who live their lives so
Good success awaits, this I know!
“No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”
Philippians 3:13-14 (NLT)
It’s your love
The air I breathe
It’s your love
The song I sing
Your love never gives up on me
It heals and sets me free
When I’m too blind to see the wrongs
Your love pulls me out of where I don’t belong
Your love is my wisdom nudge
Your love prunes rather than judge
Your love is my trust
The air of my lungs
Your love gives me rest
Your love sends me help
Your love favours me beyond what could be earned
Undeserving yet your love gives me the best!
Your love takes me to places
I sit with great faces
Your love gives me great grace
Grace beyond the race
In your love I’ll stay
Even when it seems I’m being slayed
‘Cos I’ve seen you work all things for my good
You are God! Ever faithful ever true!
Keep me in your love
There’s nowhere else I belong
I’m nothing without your love
Nothing without you my Sun!
“But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.” Psalm 86:15
“Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.” Psalm 63:3
Sometimes I wish I knew the best way to fight
I wish every darkness found in me enough light
I wish I did it right each time
But still I keep on the fight
Sometimes in my corner I cry
While I ponder the way to try
I pray for the road that’s wise to ply
I let godly wisdom shine its light
Sometimes it feels I’ve lost my might
I slip yet hang on so tight
I search for strength within me it lies
I start again the fight for my life
Through all these plights
There’s no giving up the fight
Even the weakest breath can fight
Cos life is hope and hope is life
I fight not feeding myself lies
I fight not as a perfect child
I fight I just keep on the fight
Till I master this art day and night
Against odds I fight
Against odds I smile
Against odds I shine
Against odds I feel alive!
How Could I think
Life is a thrill?
With all of its ups and downs
With all of the fights for crowns
All the risks it brings
The joy then the pains we feel
The falls that feel like a pit
The struggles for the peak
Still life’s beauty is real!
Oh life is a thrill!
We can laugh and shout it loud
We can sing and dance it out
And in our choice of calmness
We can enjoy our mind’s soundness
Our morning can be full of smiles
No matter the tears our eyes fought at night
It’s our joy of choosing peace
The understanding that life’s in seasons
The nature of beauty, the beauty of nature
An unending hope for every creature
Oh life is a thrill!
The blessing of a heartbeat
The blessing of a winning spirit
Against odds knowing no limits!
The blessing of faith, work and trust
Relentless diligence and radical love…
The knowing that great rewards will come
No matter the storms or scotching sun
Life is a thrill!!!
Even on this street…
My life remains a thrill
till my palace finds me!
He that puts his trust in man
Making him his greatest pal
Praising him with all names
Will see nothing but shame
Man may promise to impress
Or cheer-up the distressed
But the moment his promise’s been said
He may forget all but himself
The promise that never fails
The promise that God says
Our confidence in Him alone
Gives us more than we ever know
In His promise is direction and light
In His promise is abundant life
In His promise is unending wealth
In His promise is health and strength
In His promise are those ‘Godsend’–
People and resources He sends for our help
In Him is all that we need
To become all we must be
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. Psalm 118:8-9
MEDITATION: GOD is enough.
The stuttering Moses
Like a thorn amidst roses
Fighting for his own to the extreme
Once a baby at the stream….
The Jesses’ youngest – David
Ruddy and not lazy
Forgotten by loved ones
When he went shepherding the flocks
The Jewish Esther
An orphan so tender
In total obedience to her helper-
Her dear family member
The promiscuous Rahab
In kindness radiant
Hiding the spies from danger
Of Jericho’s rangers
Moses had no smooth voice
Yet he was the Lord’s choice
In Jesse’s house, David was most irrelevant
But to God he was the most significant
Esther though a ‘nobody’
At the palace God made her a ‘somebody’
And Rahab the one known as a harlot
From her lineage God brought the Messiah forth
Just to mention a few
Of all that God chose and made new
Proving that He doesn’t choose the qualified
But the justified who He now qualifies
Knowing that we have been called
Not because we were strong
We must live to give Him glory
Through all of our Life’s story
For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the thing that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God – and righteousness and sanctification and redemption- that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1:26-31
Our troubles Our struggles Those things that make us fret Are only a stepping stone to strength… Our shame Our pain Those things that make us feel ‘lame’ All have a way of leading to gain… Our errors Our failures Those vices that make us feel lost Are sometimes moulding a better us… Our ‘defeat’ And all that make us unfit Those soar parts of our story Do have a way of leading to victory… Our tears Our fears Those things we dread to face Are to be used to build our courage… Keep breathing Keep believing Keep living with strong hope Dwell not on the stones life throws… Never give up Even when it's tough Let out good attitudes Like that of gratitude… There’s an end A product of faith or fear What you believe That, you’ll receive…. ~ “But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” 2 Chronicles 15:7 (NIV)
Worries
Fears
Pessimisms…
Negative thoughts – soul’s fever
From your heart sever
Frustration
Anger
Guilt
Negative feelings –
Start peeling
Destructive criticisms
Slanders
Curses…
Negative words –
Don’t put to work
Love
Faith
Hope
Vibes of gratitude –
Let them reign in magnitude
Go positive
Overcome the negatives
Believe you can win
And by grace you will
Here are better days indeed!
–
Are we still together
Are our trials louder
Are we busy pointing fingers
At the expense of becoming stronger?
You are a light
And so am I
Are we shining bright
Or full of criticism that we forget to shine?
Everyone is condemning
What exactly are we contending?
Our destructive criticisms keep extending
Could we divert that energy to constructing?
It’s time to leave the corner
In that shell hide no longer
Not an outing to join the scorners
Come out with your strive to make Nigeria better!
The church isn’t left out of this one
Cowardly she hides, binding demonic legions
Oh how you hide in the corner of religion
Go back to your Bible and learn from the likes of Gideon
Our heroes did not just seek God’s throne
They also came out of their comfort zone
They believed and in faith they glowed
They changed the world though they were mortal souls
Come out and do your part
You and I, we all should start
This is not a play and its cast
It’s redeeming our nation from her past
In your talents, dreams and visions
Don’t forget you can do something for our nation
Wherever you are, let minds be inspired by your motions
Let’s all stand to reveal our nation as an awesome creation!
And the light shines in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John 1:5
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16
Not so much on my dress
May not be found in the press
But it’s a great news! I am blessed!
Though great is the test
In God’s love I find rest
Nothing can stop this truth, I am blessed!
I won’t settle for less
‘Will stay with God and not make a mess
No one can curse me, I am blessed!
In God’s strength I break off the nest
I soar as one of His very best
I live in His blessings, I am blessed!
To dare the toughest I am set
Everyday brighter are my steps
I live in His spirit, I am blessed!
It’s my season to sit at the ‘king’s desk’
As a very important guest
God made it so, I am blessed!!!
